One Mall's Green Makeover

The Eerieview Mall in Cleveland had a problem last year.  Way too much empty space created by dozens of store vacancies.  The economy might still be down and those stores may not be replace with new vendors this year, but the mall itself is looking a lot less empty!  That's because they've filled the space with hydroponics and GREEN!  Spinach, tomatoes, strawberries, cucumbers, lettuce, and flowers have moved in to take advantage of the mall's skylights.

Talk about taking a bad situation and making it better!  It's become a farmers market and the stores that are coming back are being filled with green businesses that cater to the renewed clientele of the mall.

Finally, if you consider yourself an environmentally-conscious person like myself, I'd like to encourage you to check out the source of this story Grist.org. They have a TON of great green reading, not to mention I'm pretty sure they're the source of the How To Talk To A Global Warming Skeptic points.
